At Quality ants you can buy ants that live completely enclosed in their own ant farm and therefore hardly need to be cared for. This way you have extra time to enjoy your ant colony!
Build your own ant world
You can choose from different varieties with us. In our webshop you can buy ants such as Messor barbarus , Messor structor, Camponotus nicobarensis and many more. Start with our starter kit and build a nest and an outside world for your ant colony. Or rather: Watch how your ants live their lives and help them by giving your ants the space to do that as best as possible.
In a starter package you will find a nest, food, an outside world and of course your colony! Of course you can expand your ant colony by purchasing a larger outdoor environment for your ants or adding another nest when the colony is large enough. Nests are available in different designs. For example, you can choose a nest made of ytong, acrylic or plaster, etc.
Taking care of your ant colony
Your ants are actually very good at grooming themselves. All you have to do is help them a little every now and then. For example, you give the ant colony various nutrients once or twice a week in the form of a drop of honeydew or sugar water, a small insect or some seeds (depending on the species). Removing excess food from the outside world of your ant colony is a good idea. Do you notice that the food is often left behind? Then give your ants a little less, think in small sizes, a small colony only needs a very small amount of food. Is it necessary to move the ants? This is possible with a coupling piece. The move can take a while. If you want it to go faster, place the old living environment in the light and make sure that the new living environment is nice and dark. Your ants will then look for the darkness more quickly. They feel much better there.
