– Lasius niger ant colony
A queen and a number of workers

– Cotton wool
For example, to prepare a new test tube; also handy to use a small piece for offering liquids (no risk of drowning)

– Fluon + brush
A specially developed preventative to keep ants inside while keeping them in the outside world. See the attached explanation on how to use.

– Feeding syringe
Handy for administering food in small amounts.

– Test tube outside world
Outside world for the ants where they get food and dispose of waste.

– 5x test tube 16 x 150 mm
Extra test tubes, for expansion and/or replacement if the current one is contaminated or its water reservoir is empty.

– Beetlejelly cup flavor.
A good food source for an ant colony. Because it is in a gel form, it is very suitable for small ants, as they cannot easily drown in it.
Note: Store in the refrigerator after opening.

– Bag of sand 100 grams
To create a thin layer of ground cover in the outdoors.

– Tube of baby dubia cockroaches
Baby dubia cockroaches are a very good, high-protein food source for ants and other insectivores. These can be stored in the freezer.

– Test tube connector
To reduce the opening of the test tube, to connect to a nest, or to offer a 2nd test tube.

– Sugar water + feeding tray
You can drip a little sugar water onto the feeding tray.
Please note: store in the refrigerator after opening, as this product has a limited shelf life.
If you ordered the Sunburst along with it, you can offer the colony a drop (yellow bottle) on the feeding tray 2 to 3 times a week. This also has a longer shelf life.

– Tweezers
Tweezers, for example, to prepare a test-tube ant or to clean up waste from the outside world.

Lasius niger is a species in the Formicinae subfamily. These ants are very easy to keep and don't place high demands on their environment. They are also very stress-resistant. This makes them an ideal starter species.
