Camponotus ligniperda, one of the largest ant species in Europe. In the wild, they live in dead wood, so they prefer a dry formicarium. It is a very beautiful and large species with a red hue.

Care:

Food:  Insects such as fruit flies, redrunners, crickets, mealworms, buffalo worms, morio worms, and dubia worms. Sugars such as beetle jelly, Formica sunburst ant nectar, and honeydew.

Food requirement: normal

How many workers should go to a nest?: When there are about 25+ workers, move them to a small nest.

Recommended nest type: ytong, acrylic, 3d, AntLab Fusion Nest

Care:

They're difficult to establish at first, but once they reach 30+ workers, they'll develop much faster. With the right nutrition and plenty of rest, they'll surely grow into a large, beautiful colony.
