Starter set consists of more than just an ant colony

In the starter set you will find, for example, cotton wool, fluoro, and a special syringe to feed the ants. The ideal ants for beginners

With this starter set you get a lasius niger ant colony. The queen of this colony grows to between 8 and 10 millimeters and the workers, on the other hand, grow to between 3 and 5 millimeters. The ants do hibernate, somewhere between the months of December and March. Ideally they do this at a temperature of between 5 and 10 degrees Celsius. If you want to create ideal conditions for the ants, ensure a temperature between 23 and 26 degrees Celsius. This ant species is easy to keep. They do not make too high demands on the environment and they are also very stress-resistant. That makes them ideal ants for beginners.
