If you choose a starter kit, you'll not only get a Lasius Niger ant colony at your disposal, but it's much more comprehensive. For example, the starter kit includes cotton wool, fluon, and a special syringe for feeding the ants. You'll also receive a test tube for the outdoors and five separate test tubes measuring 16 by 50 millimeters. The starter kit also includes honeydew and sugar water. Be careful with these products; it's best to store them in the refrigerator for a longer shelf life. If you decide to buy this starter kit, you'll also receive fruit flies. The ideal ants for beginners

This starter kit includes a Lasius niger ant colony. The queen of this colony grows to between 8 and 10 millimeters, while the workers grow to between 3 and 5 millimeters. The ants hibernate between December and March. Ideally, they do so at a temperature between 5 and 10 degrees Celsius. To create ideal conditions for the ants, ensure a temperature between 23 and 26 degrees Celsius. This ant species is easy to keep. They don't have particularly demanding environmental requirements and are also very stress-resistant. This makes them ideal for beginners.
