Tetramorium caespitum is a species in the subfamily Myrmicinae. This species grows quickly and is very active, they are easy to keep because they do not make high demands on their environment, they are difficult to escape, but with a formicarium (enclosure) from our webshop you do not have to worry. We think this is a very good alternative to lasius niger as a beginner strain.

There was plenty of seed and there were many larvae and brood. The colony had 13 workers at the time of delivery. A really fun species to keep and it is definitely worth stealing this and observing the ants. Definitely worth the small amount.
