Which ant species would you like to have in our range?

Buy Temnothorax sp

If you decide to buy the Temnothorax sp, you'll be choosing a small but very delicate ant. This ant is found in Europe, and its short length is striking. Even the queen doesn't grow larger than about 3 or 4 millimeters. The workers are, of course, even smaller, reaching a length of between 2 and 3 millimeters.

Ensure a temperature between 17 and 25 degrees Celsius

If you decide to buy the Temnothorax species, you're buying an ant that hibernates. Ants hibernate between November and March, and prefer a temperature between 5 and 10 degrees Celsius. Ideally, ants prefer a temperature between 17 and 25 degrees Celsius. If you really want to pamper the ants, ensure a temperature between 21 and 24 degrees Celsius.

Preferably choose a ytong nest and keep two centimeters of chambers

Buying the Temnothorax ants means you'll ideally choose a Ytong nest. In that case, allow for two centimeters of chamber. Food-wise, it's not too complicated either. These ants, like all ant species, enjoy insects, jelly, sugar water, and honeydew. Incidentally, by buying this ant, you're buying a member of the Myrmicinae subfamily.

Very small, but very active ants

Buying the Temnothorax ant species means you're a fan of very small but highly active ants. This ant species also requires little space. This is largely due to the fact that the colony usually stops at around three hundred workers. In the wild, this ant species is known to prefer living in small, hollowed-out acorns.

Buying the Temnothorax sp: you are buying a very easy to keep ant species

Buying the Temnothorax sp means you're buying an ant species that's very easy to keep. This makes them ideal for any ant keeper. When it comes to ants, if you're planning to keep a colony, you have a wide variety to choose from. For example, you can buy the Pheidole pallidula, a very aggressive species for its prey. The Temnothorax sp isn't aggressive. These ants are active, hard-working, and you don't really need to worry about them. They're also an ideal ant if you're planning to start keeping ants.
