Messor cephalotes is somewhat more challenging to keep than other Messor species. The most important thing is that the colony always has sufficient seeds and water. You can also offer the colony an insect a few times a week. Observe their behavior carefully. If, for example, the colony doesn't accept the food, it has sufficient food available, and you can try again a few days later. It's also important that this species is kept in a location with little to no vibration, as it is very sensitive to vibrations and becomes stressed.

Buy Messor cephalotus

Planning to buy a Messor cephalotus? A good idea, especially if you're looking for the largest of its kind. Buying a Messor cephalotus means you'll have access to some very large soldiers. All in all, buying a Messor cephalotus is a good idea if you're looking for something special.

What is striking about buying a messor cephalotus is the size of the ants

This ant species is found in various parts of Africa. The queen reaches a length of between 22 and 25 millimeters, while the workers are much smaller, measuring between 5 and 19 millimeters. As mentioned, the species is very large. The Messor cephalotus is therefore the largest harvester ant of its kind.

There are different nest types possible for this ant species

When it comes to food, you'll be pleased to find seeds, insects, sugar, and various liquids for this ant species. The ant belongs to the Myrmicinae subfamily, and just like the Messor structor, you're buying an ant that's also known as a harvester ant. The ants also consume various seeds and make a paste out of them. They then feed this paste to the larvae and also to the queen.

A relatively easy ant species

Buying a Messor cephalotus means acquiring a relatively easy ant species. The ant has few requirements regarding the conditions and environment in which it lives. It is, however, very wise to keep the ants away from vibrations, as these ants are very sensitive to them. This causes them stress, and you should, of course, try to avoid that. It also takes some getting used to these large ants. Otherwise, as a beginner, it might be a better idea to buy a Messor capitatus or barbarus.

Rob
There was a problem with the order, but they handled it very quickly and efficiently.
A truly great store.

Ordered three times in the past month and a half. Good and quick answers to questions via chat, and the Camponotus Nicobarensis colony was well packaged and arrived healthy (with workers and brood).
Daan
I recently ordered ants (Camponotus Cruentatus species).
They arrived very healthy and are already living in their formicarium with the outside world; they love the food I put in them.
I use the beetle jelly cups, which my ants prefer.
A jelly cup is large, and I can use it for a very long time.
If they need a little protein, I use a container of mealworms, which I also ordered from here.
I'm very satisfied and recommend this shop to everyone.
Greetings from Belgium, Daan

Visited the showroom last week, it was a pleasure to see it.
I bought a Polyrhachis dives colony and accessories, everything was perfectly arranged.
Bodhi Dubbelman
In my opinion, the best ant dealer in the Netherlands. I ordered three colonies, and they're all in top condition. Communication is also excellent.

I received my Polyrhachis colony a few weeks ago. It wasn't my first purchase here, but as always, it was neatly packaged and shipped quickly. The ants look great and healthy; they've already been building quite a bit, so I'm very happy with them.

I've placed a few orders, everything was great! Last time, something went wrong, but I received an immediate response and a solution, plus a bonus. Excellent service.
Boaite
I have pheidole pallidula and Camponotus nicobaresis, they arrived all well. I bought pheidole, 100+ workers, so there was immediately a small outside world, many brothers, at the end of the holiday, so already 200 and the nicobaresis is also doing well.

Top service.
Mohammed
Very good quality, the queen arrived alive and healthy. There was plenty of seed and plenty of larvae and brood. The colony had 13 workers at the time of delivery. A truly enjoyable species to keep, and it's definitely worth ordering this and observing the ants. Definitely worth the small price.

Tip: be very careful and keep them in one place as much as possible; they are very sensitive.
Evan
I ordered fruit flies yesterday, and they arrived by mail today. Excellent quality and service! I'll be ordering more food soon :)

Ordered a colony a few days ago; it was well-packaged and delivered quickly. There were slightly fewer ants than ordered, as Perry himself had mentioned. I believe that's why he included extra Beatle Jelly. Truly excellent service, definitely recommended!

I received my Aphaenogaster gibbosa colony today after a slight delay at PostNL. But after a call with Quality Ants, I was reassured that the animals would arrive safely.

This is a top-notch service.
Nick
I ordered a Camponotus fedschenkoi. It was clearly packed with great care and arrived safely. Last year I ordered a Messor barbarus queen from here, and a year later, they're also doing great. A wide selection for a great price.

In short, highly recommended.
