Lasius flavus is a species in the Formicinae subfamily.
It's a species you're much less likely to encounter in nature than Lasius niger, though they are almost equally common. These ants live primarily underground and in meadows, so you're less likely to encounter them. They're bright yellow/orange, which makes them very attractive, but this species is less active than most others. We also recommend feeding a small colony in the tube.
