Lasius flavus is a species in the subfamily Formicinae.
It is a species that you are much less likely to encounter in nature than Lasius niger, but they are almost equally common. These ants mainly live underground and in meadows, so you are less likely to encounter them. They are bright yellow/orange which makes them very beautiful, but this species is less active than most other species. We also advise you to feed a small colony into the tube.
