Premium Modular test tube nest
The Premium Modular Test Tube Nest is a handmade, practical, and stylish housing system for beginning and growing ant colonies. The system combines a compact outdoor area with space for four test tubes, allowing you to easily provide multiple nest tubes, water tubes, or additional living space.
Thanks to the clever design, the colony can independently utilize the test tube that offers the most suitable conditions at that moment. Together with the outside world, the four test tubes form a clear and practical system in which a colony can further develop.
Includes 4 test tubes
The test tube nest comes standard with 4 test tubes measuring 16 × 150 mm. These can be easily placed in the designated holders.
A major advantage of a test tube system is that you can replace the tubes individually. Is a water reservoir nearly empty or is a test tube heavily soiled? Then a new, prepared test tube can be provided while the remaining tubes simply remain connected.
Integrated outside world
At the front is a compact outdoor area measuring 13 × 6 × 3 cm. Here, the ants can forage, and you can easily offer food.
The transparent top ensures that the colony's behavior remains clearly visible, while the raised rim helps keep the outside world uncluttered and practical to use.
Modularly expandable
The Premium Modular Test Tube Nest is part of a modular nest series and offers various options to further expand the system.
The nest features a connection suitable for a 9 mm hose. This allows the system to be connected to, for example, an additional outdoor unit, nest module, or other suitable expansion.
Additionally, all nests in this modular series can be connected directly to each other using a matching connector. This allows you to combine different nest modules and adjust the system when the ant colony needs more space.
Furthermore, the outputs are equipped with convenient airlocks, allowing the connection to be easily opened or closed. This makes it easier to temporarily shut down an expansion, connect a new module, or separate certain parts of the system.
This makes the system particularly interesting for colonies that are still small, but which you expect to grow further in the future.
Ideal for starting and growing colonies
Test tubes are widely used during the initial developmental phase of an ant colony. Instead of placing a small colony into a large nest too early, it can be kept in a more compact environment and gradually given more space.
By combining four test tubes with their own outdoor environment, a flexible system is created in which the nest, water supply, and foraging area are clearly brought together. As the colony grows, the system can be easily connected to other compatible nests from the same series thanks to the modular design.
