Humidification system:
The nest features a specially developed mesh humidification system; water can be supplied via the two water reservoirs located at the bottom and top of the nest. We recommend providing an additional water source outside the nest. For example, a test tube with water or a Biformica liquid feeder filled with water, so that the colony always has access to sufficient moisture.

Advantages:
The advantage of this nest is that it's made of hard material, which is very beneficial for Messor species, for example, as they can easily gnaw through soft nesting materials. Also, seeds collected by some ants won't germinate, as most of this nest is dry.

Disadvantages:
The nest is slightly less suitable for ant species that require a highly humid habitat.
